Use the Best Cell Line for Your Study
FuGENE® HD Transfection Reagent offers unrivaled transfection performance with minimal impact on cell physiology (Jacobson et al. [2009] Biotechniques 47, 617–624). It is ideal for use in a variety of challenging applications, including transfection of cancer model cell lines, insect cells, stem cells, and for virus and protein production.
FuGENE® HD gives more biologically relevant results by allowing you to use the best cell line for your study, and doesn’t require harsh treatment of the cells by lowering serum concentration or washing of toxic lipid complexes. The in vivo environment even can be mimicked with transfection in 100% serum.
Unrivaled Transfection Performance
Transfection of Stem Cells
“FuGENE® HD resulted in the highest stable transfection rate, estimated by antibiotic selection, with plasmids containing genes under the control of the EF1alpha or PGK promoters”.
Liu J., et al. (2009) Stable transgene expression in human embryonic stem cells after simple chemical transfection. Mol. Reprod. Dev. (2009) 76, 580-6.
Transfection of Cancer Cell Models
FuGENE® HD Transfection Reagent lets you work in your cancer model. Use the FuGENE® HD protocol database to see if transfection conditions for your cell line are available. The database includes over 25 cancer models and provides transfection protocols specific for each cell line.
Cellular Imaging
High expression levels and the low toxicity of FuGENE® HD can bring better performance for imaging experiments. Read more about the low toxicity of FuGENE® HD in:
Antczuk et al. (2014) A High Content Assay to Assess Cellular Fitness. Comb Chem High Throughput Screen. 17(1), 12–24.
Protein Production
FuGENE® HD is made without animal products and is compatible with defined media. This means you can conduct experiments in mammalian and eukaryotic cells with confidence.
High Expression with Minimal Effect on Cell Health
This figure compares transfection reagent performance in HEK293 cells. Cells were transfected with a luciferase reporter plasmid, and luciferase activity detected using the ONE-Glo™ + Tox Luciferase Reporter and Cell Viability Assay. FuGENE® HD Transfection Reagent gave the highest expression levels and lowest toxicity.
