Improved Forensic DNA Analysis with Spectrum CE and Eight-Color STR Technology

In this webinar, you will learn:

  • How the flexibility of the Spectrum CE System improves the forensic DNA laboratory workflow
  • That eight-color STR Systems can provide the most usable profile information per amplification
  • That together, the Spectrum CE and eight-color PowerPlex® Systems can help solve challenging cases

Summary

When time and samples are limited, getting usable STR profile from every amplification is critical. Together, the Spectrum CE and eight-color PowerPlex® STR Systems maximizes your chance of producing searchable profiles from degraded or inhibited casework samples in a timely manner. Compared to six-color kits, eight-color STR kits have more mini-STR loci that are less likely to drop-out. When there are drop-outs, the Quality Indicators help determine if it is due to degradation or inhibition, thus simplifying and streamlining follow-up actions. The four-plate capacity of the 8-dye capable Spectrum CE System, with each plate being continuously accessible, improves forensic DNA laboratory productivity, eliminates the need to batch samples and reduces scheduling conflicts. Improving laboratory efficiency is key to reducing forensic casework backlogs, solving crimes, and ensuring public safety. Join webinar to learn more.
