Promega 2024 Wizard in My Lab Official Rules

1. Eligibility

1. The Promega Wizard in My Lab prizes are available to individuals who are at least 18 years old and are a researcher or scientist that is either (i) currently enrolled in a life science undergraduate, graduate, or postdoctoral program, or (ii) currently employed in an organization that performs life science research. Also, (iii) mentors who are nominated by eligible participants are also eligible to win a prize. Eligible mentors include individuals who have significantly contributed to the professional or academic development of the nominator. This can include university professors, research supervisors, academic advisors, or senior colleagues in a research or academic institution, regardless of their current enrollment or employment status. Eligible individuals are not required to buy Promega products or pay any fees to participate. Employees of Promega and members of the immediate families of such employees are not eligible. Employees of authorized Promega distributors are not eligible.
2. Wizard in My Lab prizes are available in select geographic regions only. Prizes are not available in all regions specifically the following regions: South Korea, China, Brazil, and Switzerland. Please contact your Promega representative or authorized Promega distributor to confirm availability in your area. This campaign is void where prohibited by law.

2. Entry and Prizes

1. Go to https://www.promega.com/products/nucleic-acid-extraction/manual-dna-rna-extraction/wizard-in-my-lab-campaign-submission-form/ to apply. Deadline to enter is Friday, November 29th, 2024, 11:59pm CDT. Winners will be notified no later than mid-January 2025.
2. The following illustrates the information you will be asked when submitting your entry to the contest.
   1. Contact Information: First name, last name, email address, telephone, job/role, Institute, street address, city, state/province (as applicable), postal code/ZIP, country, social media accounts (as applicable).
   2. Nomination information: Lab/Institute Name and Name of your mentor
   3. Mentor nomination: Submit a summary (under 500 words) describing your personal scientific mentor and how they have impacted your scientific endeavors.
   4. Optional fields: provide a tip or trick you learned for Manual Nucleic Acid Extraction/Purification in 500 words or less.
3. All information in the nomination forms must be submitted in English to be considered. Submissions in any other language will not be considered eligible.
4. Please consider that your organization’s internal policy may not allow you to receive incentives or your employer’s permission may be requested before participating in the contest. Limit to one mentor nomination per person.
   1. To receive a second entry, participants must post, repost or reshare the original Promega post on their social media account. When reposting, participants must either tag @Promega, use the hashtag #LabWiz, or perform both actions. Additionally, participants must check a box on the nomination form to indicate that they have completed the posting, reposting, or resharing.
5. Ten (10) winners from those who submit the form will be randomly selected from the Mentor Nomination form by Promega to receive a Wizard Prize Box.
6. One (1) Mentor winner will be selected by a committee of judges from Promega (the “Promega Selection Committee”) based on information submitted in the application form from the prompt, - “how has your mentor impacted your scientific journey”. Based on the winning nomination, both the mentor and the individual that fills out the form will each win a grand prize. The winning individual that submits the nomination form will be subject to a phone call or email to confirm application information and provide additional information for the mentor including but not limited to; full name, email, address, and phone to receive the grand prize.
7. Each winner will be notified by e-mail, phone and/or postal mail at the sole discretion of Promega, mid-January 2025. The winner must accept their prize and confirm contact information within 14 days of initial contact from Promega. In the event a winner cannot receive his/her prize for any reason, or a winner does not accept their prize or confirm their address within the allotted 14 days, the prize shall be awarded to an alternate winner as determined by the Promega Selection Committee.
8. Please allow up to 14 weeks for the distribution and shipping of the Wizard Prize Boxes from the date of the winner announcement. This timeframe is necessary to accommodate logistical considerations and ensure that all prizes are delivered in optimal condition. We appreciate your patience and understanding as Promega works to distribute these awards efficiently and securely.

3. General

1. By entering, participants agree to allow Promega to use their name, likeness, and entry for promotional purposes without additional compensation.
2. In case of a dispute regarding the identity of the person submitting an online entry, the entry will be deemed to be submitted by the person in whose name the e-mail account is registered. The winner may be required to provide evidence that they are the authorized account holder of the e-mail address associated with the winning entry. Return of any prize notification as undeliverable will result in forfeiture of the prize.
3. Entry information shall be the property of Promega. No prize transfer or cash redemption will be permitted. No prize substitution will be permitted, except by the sole discretion of Promega, in which case a prize of comparable or greater value may be awarded.
4. Promega is not responsible for any technical issues, lost or delayed entries, or any damage to a participant's computer or other devices resulting from participation.
5. Taxes on prizes are the sole responsibility of the winner.
6. Promega reserves the right to substitute any prize of equal or greater value or to cancel, suspend, and/or modify the contest at its sole discretion.
7. Personal information collected from participants will be used in accordance with Promega's privacy policy, which can be found at [Privacy Policy (promega.com)].
8. By participating, entrants agree to abide by and be bound by the rules and decisions of Promega which shall be final in all respects relating to the Wizard in My Lab Nomination, including without limitation the interpretation of these rules. Participants agree to release, discharge and hold harmless Promega, its subsidiaries, affiliates, and their officers, directors, agents and representatives and their respective employees from any and all claims, charges, injuries, liability, losses and/or damages of any kind resulting from or arising out of his or her participation in the Wizard in My Lab Nomination and/or the acceptance, use, misuse or possession of any prize received by the Wizard in My Lab Nomination. Previous winners are ineligible.
