Restriction Enzyme Recognition Sequences Containing Start and Stop Codons
For ordering information on the products discussed here, please visit our Restriction Enzymes product listing.
Table A lists enzymes with recognition sequences containing the start codon AUG. Those enzymes having a limited degree of degeneracy for the AUG codon (e.g., R, Y, W, etc.) are listed; however, those that would require the AUG to be composed completely of unspecified nucleotides (e.g., NNN) are not included. These enzymes can be useful for creating promoter fusions in gene expression studies.

Table B lists enzymes with recognition sequences containing the stop codons UAA, UAG and UGA. Those enzymes having a limited degree of degeneracy for the stop codons (e.g. R, Y, W, etc.) are listed; however, those that would require the stop codons to be composed completely of unspecified nucleotides (e.g., NNN) are not included.
